Monday Night Raw is set to leap out of linear television, starting in January 2025. The live streaming reins will be acquired by Netflix, as they’ve inked a 10-year exclusive media rights deal worth $5 billion with WWE. On Wednesday, the OTT service held a press event spearheaded by CCO Bela Bajaria and Vice Presidents Brandon Riegg and Paco Ramos. And straightaway, they were bombarded by Vince McMahon queries.

Bajaria explicitly said that McMahon’s already out of the picture. The Netflix Chief Content Officer seemed well aware of the 78-year-old’s recent abnegation of powers. On the other hand, Brandon Riegg, the non-fiction VP, elucidated Netflix’s unprecedented agreement with WWE. He iterated that Raw, WWE’s flagship episodic show, has had a consistent audience for the last several decades. Riegg felt excited to welcome 52 weeks of live programming on their platform.

At the moment, any association with WWE has been under scrutiny for obvious reasons. The former CEO, Vince McMahon, was recently accused of s*xual trafficking by an ex-employee, Janel Grant. It was followed by McMahon’s resignation from his executive role at TKO Group Holdings.

Vince has denied the claims filed in the lawsuit and vowed to defend himself rigorously. However, it doesn’t appear like he’s going to find a silver lining. WWE has started to distance itself from its previous founder. Moreover, as per Dave Meltzer, the promotion would not even mention his name on television or labeled products, at least for the foreseeable future.

Is Vince McMahon now being sued by fellow defendant?

From the last one week, Vince McMahon has been at the center of conversation. It continues, but the blame games have started to creep in. John Laurinaitis, who’s named as a defendant by Janel Grant in her lawsuit, has come up with something bizarre.

John’s attorney, Edward Brennan, says that Laurinaitis has denied the misguided complaint against him. Moreover, the attorney said that his client is himself a victim, like Ms. Grant. He’s not a predator, and the truth will come out, according to the words of Mr. Brennan.

As the fans already know, Laurinaitis was always backed by McMahon as one of his closest allies. Some even believe that if it weren’t for Mr. McMahon, Laurinaitis would’ve left WWE years ago.
