The SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis has suffered a major setback. By the looks of it, he ruptured his bicep tendon and has gone through surgery for it. The on-screen executive sent a message to the WWE Universe on social media and promised to continue his duties.
Aldis took to X and shared a picture of him with his right arm all patched up. The British official confirmed the dirtsheets’ report and stated that he ruptured his bicep tendon due to a ‘freak’ accident. However, the good news is that despite the injury, he will continue to fulfill his role as the SmackDown GM. Therefore, he will continue to appear on the blue brand as he recovers simultaneously.
Nick Aldis broke on to the scene when Triple H announced him as the new GM of SmackDown. He instantly made his presence felt by imposing severe punishments on those who rebelled against him. Fans liked his charismatic approach to leading the roster and his fearless stand against some of the company’s top stars, like Roman Reigns and Randy Orton.
Yes, I just got out of surgery for a ruptured bicep tendon, and yes, the sheets had it within minutes. God bless 'em. Must be a slow news day... anyway it was a freak accident, I'm on the mend, and I will continue to fulfill my obligations.Nick Aldis on X
He appeared on the blue brand last week and answered Logan Paul‘s criticism with a decision. The 37-year-old announced that The Maverick will go against Kevin Owens and Orton with his U.S. title on the line at WrestleMania. It will be interesting to see whether Aldis faces any repercussions from Paul’s legal team on the upcoming episode of SmackDown.
Mark Henry wants to see Nick Aldis compete in a wrestling ring in the future
Although Nick Aldis is known as an authoritative figure in WWE, wrestling fans know he can pack a punch in the ring too. WWE legend and Hall of Famer Mark Henry wants to see that side of the formerly known Magnus, and for that, he proposed a ridiculous idea.
The World’s Strongest Man spoke on the Busted Open Radio podcast and expressed his desire to see someone punch Aldis in the mouth. Although he praised his role as the SmackDown GM, he wanted fans who hadn’t heard of him to see his wrestling side too. Henry further added that Aldis was not just ‘another guy with a pretty face’ and could actually walk the talk in the squared circle.
I hope somebody just walks up and punches him right in the mouth because I want the world, I want all these people as a GM, I wanna see him insert himself into a match against somebody, so they can see how great a wrestler he is. Aldis had a pretty memorable career outside of WWE, as he is a one-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion and a two-time TNA World Tag Team Champion. Throughout his time at the Stamford-based company, he has yet to have to resolve matters in the ring. It will be interesting to see whether any situation forces him to wear his wrestling boots again or not.
