The SmackDown's proverbial sheriff claps back at Roman Reigns.

If there’s one man who has nullified The Bloodline’s tantrums of late, it’s Nick Aldis. From putting Roman Reigns in a fatal 4-way match at the Royal Rumble to threatening Paul Heyman with stripping The Tribal Chief of his title, the SmackDown GM has been a formidable boss. Recently, Reigns issued a warning to Mr. Aldis, saying he doesn’t like him. Now, the SmackDown executive has hit back.
In reply to Roman’s menacing words, Aldis said that it is in Reigns’ best interest to revert his focus to the three men who’re vying to dethrone him. And rightfully so, Reigns is in a precarious situation right now. Even though the odds favor Roman, a blip in concentration would be everything needed to oust the 38-year-old.
This past Friday on SmackDown, a lot went down. Initially, Paul Heyman stated that his client wouldn’t be signing the contract for his proposed match at the Royal Rumble. To that, Nick Aldis said he’s perfectly fine with that. He said so because he already had Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and LA Knight‘s signatures on the dotted line.

Further, Nick said he’d force Reigns to vacate his title and would put it on the line in a triple-threat match. However, by the end of the night, Reigns had put his initials on the official document. But, just when he was about to deliver a wicked spear to Randy Orton, the latter countered Reigns mid-air, turning it into an RKO. The Viper stood tall above all his counterparts.
Is Roman Reigns unprepared for a potential Dwayne Johnson storm at the Royal Rumble?
Despite a slight tentativeness in his approach, Roman Reigns could end up retaining the gold this Saturday. However, there’s actually a person who might be waiting in the wings for Roman to do just that. And that’s none other than his cousin, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
The Great One made a groundbreaking return on Raw: Day 1. He also dropped a bombshell by subtly calling out the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. It’s unknown when The Rock will appear next. But if a match between Reigns and Rock is indeed planned, a Royal Rumble confrontation might be on the cards.
It could see The People’s Champ coming out to look his cousin dead in the eyes after Reigns survives the day. The fans don’t need to bite their nails incessantly as WWE presents its 37th annual Royal Rumble event this weekend.
