Vince McMahon has been the driving force behind the WWE’s success ever since he assumed control of the company. As the owner of a company worth over $6 billion, it was not possible for Vince to stay out of the company’s affairs for very long. So again the ‘Boss’ of the WWE is back, and this time no one knows what his true intentions are.

Nick Khan, the current CEO of WWE, shared his thoughts regarding Vince McMahon’s return on the Bill Simmons Podcast. According to him, it is quite mundane for Vince McMahon to come out of retirement. He has done this several times, and people who believe in any news involving Vince’s retirement don’t know him very well. He also added to the turmoil that was created after his return to the board of directors. It also led to a lawsuit filed against Vince.

Is Vince coming back?

After Stephanie McMahon’s resignation, Nick Khan is the sole CEO of the WWE. And the rumors regarding the acquisition of WWE are getting stronger day by day. So the return of Vince McMahon could possibly have two reasons. Either he has returned, so there could be a smooth acquisition of the company, or he has some other plans for the company.

Vince McMahon recently joined the board of directors again and was re-elected as chairman of WWE. He used his controlling stockholder power to re-elect himself and two other board members. He also amended the bylaws, which imply that the company’s corporate governance will continue along with controlling stockholder rights.

Between all these shocking events, a lawsuit has been filed against Vince McMahon by the Detroit Police and Fire Retirement System. The suit is claiming that Vince has abused his owner’s right to regain control. Moreover, he has rewritten some bylaws, which is a restriction on other board members’ ability to take major decisions. As a result, the primary purpose of this lawsuit is to prevent Vince McMahon from further tampering with the by-laws.

Vince’s voting rights were also the subject of the lawsuit. He only owns 40% of the company, but he has over 80% of the voting rights, which is unfair to the other stakeholders. Since Vince was already re-elected as chairman, the charges may get dropped soon, but many lawsuits are on the way for him. It is a very interesting development, especially when there could be a potential sale of WWE.
