Former Tag Team Champion Nikki Cross is quite discontent with her poor bookings on the main roster. On the latest episode of Raw, she faced Shayna Baszler in a squash match that ended in just 18 seconds. As it turned out, the match was a precursor to Baszler’s challenge to Ronda Rousey for SummerSlam.

In her Tweet after the match, Nikki Cross thought that maybe she should stick to studying. This was an obvious reference to her Master’s degree that she received in the past week. Cross felt that wrestling is not her cup of tea and that she might be better off as a student of science. The former Raw Women’s Champion has been shuffling down in the women’s mid card as she has not had a solid storyline in years.

Debuting in NXT in 2016, Cross started to get attention by having decent matches with multiple women on the roster at the time. Cross had some exciting matches with the likes of Bianca Belair, Lacey Evans, and Shayna Baszler. She was called upon to the main roster in 2020 and soon teamed up with Alexa Bliss. Little Miss Bliss later turned on Cross as she joined Bray Wyatt and went through a character change.

On the other hand, Shayna Baszler has been in a feud with Ronda Rousey, which is the first time the two MMA veterans have faced off in WWE. Therefore, Nikki Cross was just used as a jobber for Baszler, only for her to challenge Rouesy for a match.

Nikki Cross gets her Master’s in Science

Apart from being a wrestler, it turns out that Nikki Cross is also a student of science. Cross recently announced on her social platform that she completed her Master’s degree and received it in a convocation ceremony hosted by her university. Cross studied for a degree at the University of Edinburgh and received a Master of Science degree.

Nikki Cross shared pictures from the ceremony, and she was accompanied by her family and friends for the memorable event. Moreover, she was joined by her husband, Damian Mackle, who is known to WWE fans as Killian Dain. Cross is Scottish and hence has her college in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Fans and fellow wrestlers are send warm wishes for Nikki Cross for her achievement. It is not easy to complete a postgraduate degree and be a full-time professional wrestler. Therefore, it is a big accomplishment that she has achieved at the age of 34.
