WWE legend John Cena received a massive push in the mid-2000s, soon becoming the face of WWE. His bout at Unforgiven 2006 helped him capture the WWE Championship from Edge. The Cenation Leader continued his title reign for over a year as he even successfully walked into WrestleMania 23 as the champ. During that period, Ric Flair once advised him to pay for the bills as his earnings were higher than the rest.

The aforementioned story was told by Jonathan Coachman while speaking with Chris Van Vliet. He revealed that WWE plans a trip to Europe every April and November while stating a story from April 2007. Flair got his hooks on Cena and forced him to act like the face of the company by asking to pay for drinks. The earnings for John were also broken down by Coachman, who stated that he would earn 30 to 50 grand for main-eventing a foreign show.

John, who had never drunk before, was drinking as well as paying for everyone’s drinks for the nine days in Europe. On the second last day of their tour, Coachman asked Cena about his constant spending. The Cenation Leader had just checked his account and saw that $70,000 was the overall payment.

The week-long Europe tour was named the WrestleMania Revenge Tour 2007. Starting from Raw in Milan, Italy, it ended in London, England, for next week’s Raw. The days in between saw the team travel to Germany, Austria, and Wales to conduct live shows all over Europe for their wide reach and connection.

The second-last day of the WWE WrestleMania Revenge Tour 2007, John Cena was in London. The other cheerful nature came into the picture as Cena was paying for the drinks as his ‘so-called’ duty. But in that moment, Dean Malenko walked up to Cena and whispered a notice in his ears that shook John.

The message was from Vince McMahon, who scheduled John Cena’s hour-long match for the next day on Raw against Shawn Michaels. This took Cena to his toes, making him leave the place for some training. Jonathan Coachman revealed that the next day he was waiting for the Cenation Leader to arrive to be with him.

Coachman claims to have smelled alcohol from Cena’s mouth. The nine-day drinking habit John developed was visible only to Jonathan. Despite his condition, he competed in a classic match with Shawn Michaels in a non-title match but eventually lost the bout at the Earls Court in London, England.
