Well, this was unexpected. According to his latest tweet, Pat McAfee is currently unsure about his future plans with WWE. He recently made his return to kick things off at the Royal Rumble. However, since then, he’s nowhere to be found. Many fans expected him to be fully back on the road after lightening up The Alamodome on January 28th. A post show behind-the-scenes image showed Triple H and Pat McAfee hugging each other in the gorilla position.
Everything seemed to head in a positive direction. But, the grass is not always greener on the other side. McAfee’s on the verge of becoming a father real soon. Obviously, he needs to be with his girlfriend as she needs him the most. Keeping that into effect, he’s not able to gather confidence on how his immediate ventures will turn out. As far as his WWE future is concerned, Pat McAfee may have to re-evaluate his plans with the company.
One of the major reasons why he’s walking on eggshells as of late, is the potential WWE sale. The Boomstick clarified that he’s having a hard time on deciding whether he’d be down for making money for whoever allegedly buys WWE. As of the writing moment, Saudi Arabia are the frontrunners to close the deal with Vince McMahon. In addition, the 77-year-old is reportedly asking $9 billions to sell his decades long business.
“Baby girl on the way… what’s that mean for my future with @WWE? I LOVE it but, they’re allegedly gonna be sold, who’s buying them? Do I want to work/make money for those people?”

Will Pat McAfee have a match at WrestleMania 39?
When Pat McAfee signed with WWE and eventually got promoted as a color commentator for SmackDown, he obliged for some matches as well. Evidently enough, due to his unmatchable charisma and mainstream hold, WWE wants the 35-year-old to compete on their stadium shows. That being said, the biggest one of their calendar year – WrestleMania, is under 40 days away.
For sure, the WWE officials are trying to get McAfee for a marquee showdown in Los Angeles. If the former Indianapolis Colts punter decides to return soon enough, he can be put against someone like LA Knight. Both men possess unreal skills on that microphone and can sold any match over that attribute. Looking at the present scenario, this is what WWE needs to book.
This Friday on SmackDown, that vagueness is expected to reduce over LA Knight’s Mania plans. Just one more day before it all pans out in front of everyone. However, going by the recent experiences, WWE management highly rates LA Knight, and would look to land him up the cards at the Showcase of the Immortals. His fantasized affair with Pat McAfee is already a gold standard for fans on Twitter.
