Pat McAfee is an upcoming sensation in wrestling and a huge name in the National Football League. However, the former NFL player has recently come into the limelight because of something unsettling. McAfee had made remarks against Hall of Fame QB Brett Favre claiming that he stole money from the people of Mississippi. Favre is allegedly involved in a scandal regarding the misappropriation of welfare funds for the residents of Mississippi.
As reported by The UK Daily Mail, Brett Favre has struck back and sued Pat Mcaffe, NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe, and Mississippi auditor Shad White for their defamatory allegations. Mcafee and Sharpe both have previously taken some shots at Favre, the latter calling him a “sleazeball” on Television. McAfee also said that the former Green Bay Packers QB “tied the hands of poor people and took money right out of their pockets.”
Favre was allegedly paid $1.1 million for speeches that he never made. The quarterback later stated that he already returned the money. However, according to Daily Mail’s report, he did not return the $228,000 in interest he made from the payment. While talking about the defamation lawsuit, a spokesperson for Favre said, “Shannon Sharpe and Pat McAfee tried to further their careers by making baseless defamatory allegations against Brett Favre.”

WWE hopeful of Pat McAfee’s in-ring return in 2023
Pat McAfee made his way back to WWE just a couple of weeks ago at the Royal Rumble event. The return stunned everyone including his co-commentator and friend Michael Cole. McAfee later revealed that he was originally booked to wrestle in the Rumble match. However, he declined as he didn’t seem in proper shape. Nonetheless, as per Fightful Select, WWE is still hoping that Pat McAfee will have a match this year.
McAfee was a full-time SmackDown commentator alongside Michael Cole last year. The chemistry between the two was loved by the fans and Pat’s charismatic personality was just the icing on the cake. Pat McAfee made his WrestleMania debut last year against Austin Theory, which he won. The event is also remembered because of Vince McMahon making his in-ring return against the SmackDown commentator and defeating him with shenanigans.
Later that year, McAfee challenged Baron Corbin as well at SummerSlam putting another win under his belt. The former NFL player had to leave WWE late last year to host ESPN College Gameday. Now, as the football season is coming to an end and WrestleMania season is just beginning, it might be just a matter of time before Pat Mcafee returns to the ring.
