Following a dissatisfaction spree through the College Football TV Survey, around half of the fans have voted against Pat McAfee being on that coveted desk. As known, McAfee has been busy hosting ESPN’s College GameDay for the last two seasons. However, it appears like a chunk of viewers don’t prefer him in that spot anymore. Reacting to the poll conducted by The Athletic, Pat McAfee had a lot to say.

First of all, he expressed his gratitude towards those 30% who liked his work. However, the majority once again prevailed, and it led to McAfee’s decision not to re-sign with ESPN. Pat admitted that his cadence might not be everyone’s cup of tea, especially for “distinguished” college football fans. He’s still excited for the remaining NFL season and is anxiously waiting to see what’s next in his life.

The former Colts punter appreciated the GameDay family, which let him work with them. Last but not least, he did leave his fans with a little insight into what to expect in the future. McAfee posted a gif of his days as the SmackDown commentator, where he used to dance over the table. Could that mean he’s coming back to WWE?

Well, if he’s decided not to continue working seven days a week as he did as the GameDay host, that leaves the door wide open for his comeback. He initially parted ways with WWE due to his packed obligations with ESPN. Now that they’re no longer the burning issue, Michael Cole might soon have some familiar company while calling out WWE shows. McAfee has already made it clear that he wants to go big in WWE.

When did Pat McAfee last appeared in WWE?

Last month at Fastlane, the show was in Indianapolis. How could Pat McAfee let things run without leaving a mark in his hometown? He came out to introduce John Cena for his tag team match alongside LA Knight. The match turned out to be the best of the night, and McAfee’s day was made.

Before that, he also appeared on SmackDown in Denver, where he witnessed the WWE return of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Earlier that day, Johnson was a guest on McAfee’s The Pat McAfee Show. The Great One dropped some bombshells during that episode.

Just when Dwayne informed Pat that their match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39 was a lock-in at one point, The Boomstick was in serious disbelief. They later went on to have some fun on SmackDown. McAfee and Rock confronted Austin Theory in a segment that had the crowd on its palms.
