Since CM Punk‘s return at the Survivor Series: WarGames, he’s only been in the ring a handful of times. However, he got injured and it was revealed that he would miss WrestleMania 40 due to an injury. Many fans were concerned about whether they would see Punk at the Show of Shows or not.
It looks like WWE has some plans for the 46-year-old veteran. Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp stated that WWE is looking to involve Punk in some capacity, but not sure in what capacity. Even though he was injured, the Second City Saint made his presence felt during the WrestleMania XL press conference.
The Best in the World suffered an injury at the hands of Drew McIntyre in the Royal Rumble match. Punk tore his right tricep while receiving a Future Shock DDT from The Scottish Warrior. As a result, he will miss WrestleMania for an indefinite time to recover from it. Punk even expressed his frustration over not being able to perform at Elimination Chamber in front of a sold-out crowd.
I don’t, I know that he’s scheduled to be on or at TV before then. They plan to have him involved in some capacity, I just don’t know what that capacity is.Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select
Although he is injured, Punk’s being advertised for the April 1 edition of Monday Night Raw. The show will serve as the go-home episode for WrestleMania XL. Many fans speculate that the 46-year-old will be hosting the Show of Shows. It will be interesting to see what CM Punk has in store for the WWE Universe just before WrestleMania.
CM Punk gives a tribute to Eddie Guerrero and shares pictures of their match on social media
The Best in the World, CM Punk, remembered his old days when he wrestled the late great Eddie Guerrero. Punk has a great deal of respect for Eddie and often admits that the Latino Heat changed his life. He paid him tribute on social media.
Punk took to Instagram and shared pictures of their encounter 22 years ago. He defeated Eddie to win the IWA Mid-South Heavyweight title in a fantastic match. Eddie and Punk, along with Rey Mysterio, had some pretty amazing matches on the independent circuits.
Eddie was released from the company in 2001 due to an arrest for drunk driving. During that time, he wrestled Punk on the independent circuit until he made his return to WWE. The Best in the World still sees Eddie as one of his idols and always will.
