R-Truth is one of the most loved wrestlers in WWE. Throughout his career, fans have liked his funny and goofy persona. He doesn’t appear much on TV now, but whenever he makes an appearance, the WWE Universe is assured to laugh. Recently, Truth has been off TV due to an injury, and now he has given an update on the same.

In a recent YouTube Live stream, R-Truth gave an update on his injury and said, “Still healing up. Still healing up from my quad injury. I had to have two surgeries, a lot of people don’t know that. I caught an infection so I had to have another surgery. So it set me back, but, y’all know me, I am coming back probably sooner than y’all think.”

R-Truth suffered an injured tendon during a match at NXT against Grayson Waller. The referee stopped the match midway and awarded Waller the victory. As he said, he had to undergo surgery not just for the injury but also for an infection. Later on, in the same video, he said that he started physical therapy again on Monday.

While talking about his time in NXT, R-Truth said that he was enjoying his time there and that he would like to continue that run once he gets healed. This will be a refreshing gear change for the former tag team champion as he moves to the developmental brand and shares his valuable advice with the young stars there.

Truth made his WWE debut in 2000 under the ring name K-Kwik. He was part of the promotion for two years before wrestling for TNA and NWA in 2002. He had two NWA world heavyweight title runs during this time. R-Truth returned to WWE in 2008 with his new name, as we know him today.

During his tenure with WWE, R-Truth won the United States championship twice and also held the tag team title with Kofi Kingston. Although he took part in multiple Elimination Chamber matches for the world title, the only singles match he had for it was in 2011. R-Truth challenged John Cena for the WWE Championship at Capitol Punishment but failed to win the match.

During his later years, R-Truth became a completely comical character, coming out at random segments to make the WWE universe laugh. Recently, he was involved with the 24/7 title, winning it a record 53 times. Hearing a positive update from Truth on YouTube was a relief for the fans, who would love to see him return to the ring soon.
