While loitering around the backstage area, scouting his Judgment Day comrades, R-Truth, alongside The Miz, met DIY. In an exclusive video clip posted on WWE’s digital platforms, The DIY, Tommaso Ciampa, and Johnny Gargano told the 51-year-old legend about their New Year resolution—and that’s a tag team title shot. Both Johnny and Gargano asked Truth to inform Finn Balor and Damian Priest about their intentions.

Later on, the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions were spotted quarreling with Adam Pearce. Finn asked the Raw GM why he booked his match against Tommaso Ciampa next week on Raw. Pearce, in bafflement, told Balor that Judgment Day was the one to ask for it. Finn had no clue until R-Truth revealed that he asked Pearce for the match on behalf of The Judgment Day.

Initially, one-half of the tag team champions relented. However, when Truth said he understood Finn being a scaredy-cat, The Prince decided to go with the flow. And that’s how things were sealed. Next week in Portland, Finn Balor will go one-on-one with Tommaso Ciampa. And if the DIY member is able to beat Balor, the dynamic duo of Ciampa and Gargano would get a title shot at The Judgment Day.

A couple of weeks ago, Balor and Priest escaped a resilient pairing of The Creed Brothers. The fans thought they were about to see Julius and Brutus get crowned as new champions; however, a last-second lapse in concentration from the match referee cost the Creeds dearly. Despite Julius’ shoulder being up before the third count, the official, Chad Patton, inadvertently robbed the newcomers of a major moment.

Can The DIY take on the gauntlet against The Judgment Day?

Despite a few hiccups, Finn Balor’s camaraderie has grown manifold with Damian Priest. Once primed for a breakup, the duo is now dictating things on Raw for the most part.

They’ve been on a roll ever since taking those tag titles away from Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at Payback last year. It now appears like WWE CCO Triple H is preparing DIY for a crack at Finn and Damian.

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa are two men whom The Game honed as the future of WWE. Back in NXT, those men were the centerpieces of the show. Their main roster journey began a few weeks ago, and they’d be hoping to somehow down The Judgment Day if they earned an opportunity to do so.
