BREAKING: Randy Orton advertised for upcoming WWE event

Randy Orton (via- Wrestling Features)

Randy Orton got written off from television following the Tag Team Championship Unification match against The Usos where he alongside his tag team partner Riddle got defeated by the hands of despicable Usos. We later got a disappointing update regarding the in-ring future of the Viper courtesy of Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful where he mentioned that Orton has legitimately hurt his back and will require a surgery to cure that. In the meanwhile, he is also expected to miss the entire year from now due to the unfortunate injury.

At one point, WWE had Orton pencilled in as Roman Reigns‘ Summerslam opponent but that could not happen. Although we now know that he’s out and would not be there on television soon, he’s still being advertised for an upcoming live event dated July 16th at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Centre at Tallahassee, Florida. As of writing there’s no further update about whether Orton will really making an appearance there or this is just an advertising error from the arena as thinking realistically, Orton won’t be there.

The meaningful speculation regarding Randy Orton’s return date could end up being at next year’s Royal Rumble where he can make a surprise entry in the men’s Rumble match. Anything before that would be a pure bet.

What could Randy Orton do upon his return to WWE?

Randy Orton and Riddle were a man-attraction as a team on Monday nights where they were heavily liked by the entire WWE Universe and some even called them as the best thing happening on WWE Television. There were some internal talks at one point regarding splitting up the duo but after realising the kind of crowd reaction they were getting, WWE decided to continue with them as a team moving forward.

The return plan for Orton upon his much-awaited return could include him turning up on his tag partner Riddle and starting up a high-profile singles program between the two having a match at Wrestlemania next year in Los Angeles.
