Endless wait and dolorous reports on Randy Orton‘s status over the past few months had left the fans quite restless. Previous reports suggested doctors advised The Viper against wrestling due to his back surgery. However, a recent viral clip showed Orton entering the Performance Center, fueling speculation about his potential WWE return.

According to Fightful Select, WWE is planning to bring Randy Orton back by this year’s Survivor Series. That’s the best possible news the wrestling fans could’ve wished for. There’s no exact date as of now. However, the voices will be heard on WWE television very soon. Orton last wrestled in May last year, where he lost to The Usos alongside Matt Riddle.

Following the mentioned report, it took nearly 1.5 years for Randy Orton to receive medical clearance for his return. His severe back injury necessitated back fusion surgery, which he underwent months ago. Since then, he has been in recovery. Recently, Orton has been active on social media, often seen posing with his wife, Kim Orton.

The fact that WWE held on until the last possible second while finally deciding on Randy Orton’s return shows how much they value him. And why not? He’s one of the greatest to ever do it. Needless to say, whenever he pops up on television, the fans are going to lose their minds. It will be interesting to see who Randy ends up feuding with upon his comeback.

Was Randy Orton’s reunion with Matt Riddle on the cards?

It was widely speculated that Randy Orton would’ve rejoined forces with Matt Riddle had the latter not been released. The RK-Bro was one of the most loved factions in WWE. However, Ringside News has provided an update on whether WWE ever planned something like that.

According to the outlet, an RK-Bro reunion wasn’t on the cards. Surprisingly, the promotion wasn’t trying to reunite the team that drove them out of the mud when WWE’s product became stagnant. Who knows if they were planning to split them up and potentially have them square off in a single match down the road?

All those talks don’t even matter as WWE released Matt Riddle last month. Few higher-ups even believe that he burned through too many chances in the company. The release of The Original Bro was on the horizon and his JFK Airport incident hit the final nail in the coffin.
