Raquel Rodriguez is working her way to the top of the women’s division. She is working at a great pace to make her run in the company worth watching. It hasn’t been a long time since she joined WWE’s main roster. She worked for NXT before her main roster debut for about four years.
Rodriguez’s run in NXT was great and had great ups and downs. However, there was a lot that seemed to be a hurdle in her run. She had to change her in-ring name more than 3 times during her run. Her birth name wasn’t approved for her appearances for hardly a year while she had just begun her action run.
She initially performed under the name of Victoria González followed by Reina González back in 2017 during her Mae Young Classic run. She then joined hands with Dakota Kai at NXT Takeover under the name Raquel González. She carried the name for a long time before finally entering the gates of WWE’s main roster as Raquel Rodriguez.
Talking to Fox 61, the WWE star revealed the reason for WWE to change her name multiple times. She said, “WWE has ownership of the image of Raquel Rodriguez and the name of Raquel Rodriguez. So, that’s really a decision that they’ve made if it was up to”. She also added, “I’m not too mad about it. You know, a name, it’s just a name”.
Raquel Rodriguez has great aspirations for WWE’s women’s division
Raquel Rodriguez recently gave her take on what changes could be made to the women’s division of the company. Talking to NBC Sports Boston, the former NXT star said that she would love to welcome a mid-card title for the women’s division.
The women’s division has a big number of names on its card. Currently, WWE has one Women’s title and a tag team title for the women on its roster. If a new title is introduced, it will heighten the enthusiasm of the fans and the superstars themselves.

Raquel felt that the women in the division belonged to diverse cultures. A new title would provide a greater opportunity for women to shine in every aspect. Triple H has brought some notable changes in the company and he can be expected to do the same considering the requests of the WWE superstars.
