Raquel Rodriguez is one of the newest additions to the WWE main roster. Real name, Victoria Gonzalez, she is a second generation professional wrestler. Interestingly, she had signed with the company way back in 2016 – and was training at the Performance Center since then, making her in-ring debut in 2017.
Gonzalez’s first television appearance came in 2017 during a battle royal match, in which she failed to succeed. But she started getting mainstream popularity in 2020 when she appeared as Dakota Kai’s bodyguard. The duo went on to win the inaugural Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic – which earned them the first NXT Women’s Tag Team titles.
Unfortunately, they ended up losing the titles within an hour. Post this, the singles career of Raquel Rodriguez kicked off. She went on to defeat Io Shirai to become the NXT Women’s Championship. Raquel ended up losing the title to Mandy Rose at NXT: Halloween Havoc in a Trick or Street Fight.
After earning immense success on the NXT roster, Raquel Gonzalez was rebranded as Raquel Rodriguez and introduced on the main roster. She was first seen on the Smackdown after Wrestlemania episode. But during a recent appearance on the Busted Open Radio she revealed the contradictory advice she received from the company.
“When I first started at the PC, a lot of the coaches like Matt Bloom always got mad at me for constantly walking around the PC and smiling. He’s like, ‘You have to learn how to stop smiling. You gotta stop smiling and be intimidating.’…I can’t help but smile. Coming up to SmackDown, I was fully ready not to smile and be this intimidating bad mother trucker, but the thing they asked from me was to smile,” mentioned the former NXT Women’s Champion.
Raquel Rodriguez is dating Braun Strowman
The newest addition to the WWE main roster has been dating former WWE Superstar Braun Strowman for quite some time now. While when Strowman was with WWE, he didn’t share much details about his private life. But in recent times, he has been quite open about his relationship with Raquel Rodriguez.
Earlier this year, the Monster Among Men took to his Instagram stories to share some details about the couple. In the Story, Raquel could be seen eating a huge piece of mean – which was captioned, “Yep we have s*x!!”
