Former WWE and UFC Champion Ronda Rousey lost to Shayna Baszler a few months ago at SummerSlam. This marked Rousey’s last match in WWE. Although she did not officially announce her retirement from WWE, she implicitly hinted at it through her Instagram post. However, The Rowdy One recently returned to in-ring action on an indie show, leaving the pro wrestling fans astonished.

Ronda Rousey wrestled in a tag team match with her longtime friend and training partner, Marina Shafir. The two defeated the team of Taya Valkyrie and Brian Kendrick. However, it appears as though this was not a one-off appearance from Rousey, and she plans on doing a few more indie shows. Now that the 35-year-old has more star power with her, the appearances will be according to her schedule and convenience.

I think she wants to team with Marina, and maybe there’s something there. She’s a free agent, she can do what she wants. Now she’s doing it for fun. It’s in LA. She doesn’t have to travel. She likes hanging out with Marina.

Dave Meltzer on WON also reported that Ronda Rousey only wants to work on her terms for now. This was not possible to do in WWE, as the company has a hectic and fixed schedule throughout the year. Therefore, it appears as though the former women’s champion will spend some time in the Indies. It remains to be seen if Rousey will sign with AEW now that she is no longer under a WWE contract.

Ronda Rousey officially moved to WWE alumni section on the website

It appears as though Ronda Rousey has officially parted ways with WWE. Reports were that her match with Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam was her farewell match. Earlier this month, Rousey implicitly hinted at her retirement from wrestling, only to return a few weeks later. However, her departure from the Stamford-based promotion seems confirmed, as WWE recently moved her to the alumni section on its official website.

It appears as though Rousey’s contract expired following SummerSlam, and the 90-day contract clause was completed recently. Therefore, the 36-year-old made an appearance on an indie show, teaming with her friend Marina Shafir. This means that Rousey is free to go anywhere and can wrestle anywhere she wants.

There are chances that the Baddest Woman on the Planet might go to AEW, joining Shafir in the company. This would also mean that Ronda Rousey has a fresh list of opponents to face. Fans will have to wait and see what she decides to do next. Her WWE chapter seems to have ended with her moving into the alumni section.
