Renee Paquette opens on struggles with Vince McMahon
Renee Paquette who is more familiar to us as Renee Young worked for WWE from 2012 until getting released from the company back in 2020. She was an on-screen figure mainly acting as a correspondent and commentator during the later part of her career. Renee’s versatility was exactly what found her a decisive identity among the WWE Universe despite just not more than conducting interviews. Her facial expressions were top notch and even made some conversations feel absolutely real at times.
Some of Renee Paquette’s most notable works include her involvement in the Miz vs. Dean Ambrose (now Jon Moxley) storyline which went too far for the Intercontinental Championship on Smackdown during 2017. During an in-ring interview with the Champion Miz, Renee tried to inquire about the A-lister’s rival Ambrose but instead got a befitting reply in which The Miz brought up Renee’s real life relationship with Dean saying, “You’re the one who slept with him” and out of losing her calm, Renee Paquette slapped The Intercontinental Champion in front of everyone.
After wrapping up as backstage correspondent on Smackdown Live, Renee started to grace the Monday Night Raw commentary table alongside Michael Cole and Corey Graves receiving tons of appreciation for bringing a new flavour for the commentary desk. Her quick reactions and the ability to perfectly exaggerate even a lame spot made her special and unique from everyone else.

As we all know, Vince McMahon had a specific set of rules that he ensured under his control to get implemented on the WWE programming. One of them included him often shouting and directing every single person on that commentary table to act the way he wanted them to be and stay limited in their verbiage. A certain amount of words including “wrestling”, “fans” , “hospital” and many more were termed as banned under his management for whatever reason.
Renee Paquette recently discussed about her personal difficulties in processing whatever Vince yelled into her commentary headphones to repeat out the same lines on-air. She however didn’t fully admitted it as Vince’s shortcoming as she thought maybe he had some issues in hearing them.
”There was times that Vince would for sure be in my ear, but I’ll tell you what was really rough about that was hearing him. There were so many times where I’m like, ‘Could you repeat that again?’ Like, I just couldn’t hear him. I don’t know if that was a me problem, I don’t know if it was him mumbling, but there were definitely times where he was talking to me, but I could not tell you what he was trying to get me to say.”
