He has been one of the workhorses in the company over the last few years. However, recent reports suggest that McIntyre’s WWE contract will expire this year, and the company hasn’t extended any deal as of yet.

The Scottish Warrior will wrestle Gunther and Sheamus in a triple-threat match this year at WrestleMania 39. McIntyre, despite being a big star, hasn’t been in any title picture in a long time. Therefore, he will finally look to win the Intercontinental Championship at the Showcase of the Immortals. However, reports state that this could be his last WrestleMania considering the status of his contract.

According to PWInsider, Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract will expire before the end of this year. Moreover, it stated that there have been no talks backstage about re-signing him as of now. McIntyre, despite being one of the biggest stars in WWE, is not even close to reaching an agreement about renewing his WWE deal. It appears that the company hasn’t shown any inclination to extend his deal yet.

However, Mike Johnson of PWInsider stated that his contract is not terminating ‘immediately’. He said that there’s plenty of time and things could shape in a positive direction. Moreover, Mike said that it will expire eventually before the end of this year. He reported that the two parties are ‘far from any negotiations.’

Drew McIntyre is undoubtedly a valuable asset for the company. Therefore, it appears that WWE will soon figure it out and offer him a new contract very soon. It will be interesting to see how the two parties come to a mutual agreement after deliberations.
