“What a match, What a finish”- Twitter sets on fire as Edge and Rey Mysterio beat the Judgment Day and Dominik turns heel
Edge and Rey Mysterio after the match
The verdict is out and Edge and Rey Mysterio have beat The Judgement Day. The Clash at the Castle’s Loud pops were heard first at this match. Edge had an amazing entrance, which saw the crowd wake up from a snooze fest of the previous match involving Shayna Baszler and Liv Morgan. The Crowd became more engrossed and pumped when Mysterio tagged The Rated R Superstar and he entered the ring.
Edge even attempted a 619 on Finn Balor and the finish of the match saw Rey Mysterio delivering a 619 on Balor and Edge spearing Finn Balor to win the match. After the match Fans got to see what they had expected, which was Dominik Mysterio turning heel and attacking both his father and Edge.
The Rated R Superstar had defeated Damien Priest on the August 22nd Edition of RAW. After Priest’s defeat, Edge wanted to do more damage to him but Priest’s mates Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley attacked him and were about to beat him brutally, when Edge’s wife Beth Phoenix saved him. The following week on RAW it was announced that Edge and Rey Mysterio would face Damien Priest and Finn Balor in a tag team match. This was the first time The Rated R Superstar and Rey Mysterio had teamed up for the event since 2002.
The stable had been formed by The Rated R Superstar this year, when he defeated AJ Styles at WrestleMania 38. Damien Priest had distracted Styles and had cost him the match against The Rated R Superstar. Thereafter Rhea Ripley joined the stable at WrestleMania Backlash, where Styles was again distracted by her and thereby lost to Edge. On a RAW episode that was to be followed by a Hell in a Cell event, the members intended to remove The Former World Heavyweight Champion from his position.
They viciously assaulted him and backstabbed him in order to remove him from the group he founded. The Rated R Superstar was then unavailable in the WWE until SummerSlam, when he resurfaced and interfered in the match between Judgment Day and The Mysterios, spearing both Finn Balor and Priest, resulting in the Mysterios winning. The Rated R Superstar has subsequently forged an alliance with The Mysterios.
