WATCH: Rey Mysterio makes a surprise appearance at the UFC 290 event, gets his name botched on worldwide television
Rey Mysterio attended last night's UFC 290 event in Las Vegas. However, he wouldn't have imagined that the production team could botch his name on live television.

Rey Mysterio decided to spend this weekend being a guest at UFC 290. He attended the combat sport event supporting his fellow countrymen Yair Rodriguez and Brandon Moreno. Well, the WWE superstar had quite a rough night at the T-Mobile Arena. First of all, none of his Mexican fighters emerged victorious in their respective bouts. Secondly, one of the production truck guys botched his name label on live television.
The cameras rolled on Rey Mysterio with a huge crowd pop. However, what caught the attention of viewers was him being labeled as ‘Ray Mysterio’. Surely, that was a blunder from UFC’s end. Since then, the legendary WWE Superstar has been trending on social media.
Fans really don’t rest easy these days. A certain Twitter user wrote, “Guys in the truck had one job and chose Ray lmao.” WWE on BT Sport’s Twitter account shared that clip where Rey had his name wrongfully spelt. Unsurprisingly, that 15-second video is making rounds on the internet. It can be seen below.
However, to be real, Rey Mysterio couldn’t care less about that. He’s such a golden individual by heart. He paid a visit at UFC 290 to support his men. The Master of 619 never misses out on an opportunity to proudly support his Mexican culture. He hung around Las Vegas with a similar intention last night.

Rey Mysterio has been on a lighter schedule since WrestleMania 39
The legendary luchadore had one of the key matches at WrestleMania 39. He faced his own son Dominik Mysterio in Los Angeles. Capping off a brilliant story at the Pinnacle of Sports Entertainment, Mysterio took up a lighter schedule. Since then, he’s mostly been seen encouraging his LWO members to level up their game.
His last televised match came up against LA Knight a number of weeks ago on SmackDown. The former lost his bout and has mostly been off television ever since. Needless to say, he doesn’t has much left to do in this business. Also, the company won’t be using his as a full-time wrestler anymore.
The decision to reform the LWO with Rey Mysterio leading them was a good one. Fans are adoring the dynamics between them and the group’s merchandise sales have been off the charts. The LWO’s Santos Escobar and Zelina Vega competed in their respective Money in the Bank ladder matches last Saturday in London.
