Rey Mysterio is a legend, and there is no argument over that fact. He broke many stereotypes in what most considered the big men’s business. Rey was the ultimate underdog. He paved the way for not just an array of high-fliers in the business but also put Lucha Libre on the map.
Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero played a huge role in making it happen. Deservingly WWE inducted him into the Hall Of Fame class of 23. Recently Mysterio was a guest on the Impaulsive podcast hosted by Logan Paul. Where he spoke about multiple facets of his career.
The conversations ranged from Rey’s debut and how he felt being so small in a business of giants to his current feud with Dominik. One of the interesting things that came up in conversation was the rumour that Rey had dated Jennifer Aniston in 1997.
Logan asked him about it and Rey chuckled in response “About a week“. Rey said that it was just rumoured and that it was his brush with the paparazzi frenzy. He mentioned how he preferred his privacy and didn’t like being pestered when he was with family. He said he doesn’t like to be mugged or sign stuff when he’s with the family.
On the note of the rumor, it was based on some misconceptions. In fact, Aniston said she’d never met Rey. The article written in April 1997 mentioned that Rey and Jennifer were huge fans of each other’s work. It claimed that the Master of the 619 appeared before Aniston without a mask just a few days after his win against Ultimo Dragon. The whole scene is probably a publicity stunt. As Aniston was the talk of the town at the time of the supposed relationship.

Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik feud continues after WrestleMania 39
On the work front, Rey’s just come off a massive win against Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania. The following Raw Damian Priest laid out Bad Bunny for punching Dominik. Bad Bunny took a chain off Dominik’s hand at WrestleMania, which allowed Rey to win. As things stand, it looks like Rey Mysterio and Bunny will team up to take on Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio at Backlash.
Since he’s in the HOF, it seems likely that Rey is nearing the twilight of his career. His career as a professional wrestler, both inside WWE and elsewhere, is a storied one, and Dominik is growing day by day as a performer, but he’s got quite a distance to go before living up to his legendary father.
