Rey Mysterio in the WWE

The Clash at the Castle live event saw Rey Mysterio and Edge team up after 20 years at a live event. The duo successfully defeated the Judgment Day members Damien Priest and Finn Balor at the event. The match was one of the best from the event and was thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd from the entrances to the finish.

Edge, as usual had an amazing entrance and donned his own lucha Mask during the entrance. He also performed Rey Mysterio’s special move 619 on Finn Balor during the match, which received a huge pop from the crowd. The end was a sad one as Dominik Mysterio turned on Edge and his father Rey Mysterio, thereby betraying them.

It was a twist that audience were expecting as since past few weeks on WWE RAW, we have been seeing Dominik being unhappy since Edge’s return. Rey choose Edge to be on his side at the Live event as he considered the experience factor as one of the vital parts to face the Judgement Day.

Back in July, during an interview with Ariel Helwani of BT Sports, Rey had spoken about feuding with his son Dominik Mysterio. Rey Mysterio had said that during the initial days of Dominik’s training, he had questioned Dominik about teaming up in the initial period and then either one of them turning or backstabbing each other to become the heel.

Rey remarked that the idea seemed to be cool but then had said that they wouldn’t think they can pull it off as they share a close bond and even if storyline wise it looks attractive, they both won’t be able to do it.

At present, after yesterday’s events we sure can say that Rey and Dominik have agreed to do the heel turn storyline with Dom as the heel. We surely can imagine how hard it must be for both of them to pull this kind of stuff off.
