Rey Mysterio in WWE

This week on RAW, we saw Rey Mysterio team up with AJ Styles to compete in a tag team match against Finn Balor and Damian Priest. The match was won by Balor and Priest and the finish of the match saw Finn Balor deliver a coup de grace on Styles to win the match.

The former World Heavyweight Champion has been feuding with Judgment Day since June of this year. Rey Mysterio, along with his son Dominik fought against Priest and Balor in a No Disqualification tag team match at SummerSlam, where they defeated the members of the Judgment Day and witnessed the return of Edge.

Since Edge’s return we saw him siding with the Mysterios and at the Clash at the Castle Premium Live event, Rey Mysterio teamed up with Edge and defeated the Judgement Day at the event. Rey Mysterio picking up Edge as his partner for the Clash at the Castle Premium Live event didn’t go well with Dominik and he thought that he was being under his father’s shadow all the time so he betrayed him at the event. Since then, Dominik has become a part of Judgment Day.

Rey Mysterio stated in an interview with WWE Digital Exclusive that he and AJ Styles were performing admirably during the match until Dominik dared to strike him and Rhea hit him with a clothesline. At that point, Rey Mysterio claims that he completely lost focus. Rey Mysterio said that AJ Styles needed assistance, but he was unavailable to provide it to Styles. Mysterio claimed that he has been going through a lot lately and that it is difficult to accept.

Before their match, The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor delivered a promo, where he said that he will definitely make Edge Quit the match. Dominik Mysterio also spoke briefly, stating that he despises his father, to which the members chuckled. Rey Mysterio added that hearing that from his son, who has been with him for 25 years, was heart-breaking.

“For my son to say that he hates me when he’s been with Judgment Day for the past couple of months and I’ve been with him for the past 25 years. How can you even compare that? That word doesn’t even belong in his vocabulary. And that hurts very much,”

Finn Balor and Edge will square off against each other at the Extreme Rules Premium Live event in an “I Quit” Match on October 8th at Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
