Rhea Ripley has been dominating the women’s division since this year’s WrestleMania. Nobody has come close to threatening her reign as the Women’s World Champion on the RAW roster. However, a viable opponent in the form of Raquel Rodriguez has proved to be a burden for the champion.
The former NXT superstars have been involved in numerous confrontations over the past few months. Things heated up when Ripley injured Raquel’s tag team partner, Liv Morgan, ruling her out with a shoulder injury indefinitely. Furthermore, the Eradicator delivered more punishment to her rival, keeping her out of in-ring competition as well.
On the recent episode of Monday Night RAW, Raquel Rodriguez blindsided the champion by attacking her before the main event. The brawl turned ugly as Candice LeRae and Indie Hartwell also got involved. Afterwards, Rhea Ripley took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to respond to the ambush. “Bring it Pu*a,” she posted, calling the 32-year-old a who*e in Spanish.
Rhea Ripley was rumored to defend her title against Raquel Rodriguez at SummerSlam. Despite that, a storyline angle had Raquel deemed unfit to wrestle. Therefore, fans can expect an encounter between the two at the upcoming premium live event, Payback. The rivalry will aptly fit into the name of the September event.
Rhea Ripley’s feud with Candice LeRae teased on RAW
Candice LeRae was one of the major signings under the new Triple H regime. Despite most fans expecting the former NXT star to be heavily involved on the female roster, she has only made sporadic appearances since last year. A reunion of her faction, The Way, was teased after the WWE Draft but there was no follow-up on it.
Nevertheless, things changed on the recent edition of Monday Night RAW. Candice, along with her group member, Indi Hartwell, appeared in a major angle. They tried to prevent Raquel Rodriguez from worsening her injury by separating their friend from Rhea Ripley during a brawl.
During the chaos, LeRae exchanged blows with the World Champion, seemingly teasing a future program between the two. The 37-year-old is talented in the ring and can take the champion to her limit. Furthermore, the WWE Universe believes bringing back The Way on screen can do wonders for the brand’s female division, which has arguably looked bleak since WrestleMania.
