Rhea Ripley ascended to the top of WWE when she defeated Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39. The Judgment Day member became a two-time Women’s Champion at the Showcase of Immortals and has reigned supreme ever since. However, in the same event, another star by the name of Cody Rhodes notably failed to capture the World Title. As such, Ripley recently took a jab at him by comparing their ‘stories.’

During an interview with Notsam Wrestling, Rhea spoke about her career-defining win at last year’s Showcase of Immortals. The Eradicator claimed that the moment was her ‘finishing her own story.’ This was a reference to Cody’s own lifelong dream of winning the WWE Championship. Therefore, Ripley took a shot at that by stating that she is the only ‘Nightmare’ who can say that they did fulfill their promise.

The subtle shot garnered a lot of laughs from the live audience as well as a shocked Samantha Irvin. The American Nightmare has received similar kinds of jabs from fans and other wrestlers over the past year or so. During the Royal Rumble press conference, Cody Rhodes acknowledged the ‘memes’ and ‘GIFs’ by openly proclaiming himself to be the face of WWE.

At WrestleMania 39, the 38-year-old came very close to winning his first World Title in WWE. However, Bloodline interference led to Roman Reigns retaining his Undisputed Universal Championship. This time, Cody will receive a second chance at The Tribal Chief as he prepares to make his decision official soon. The pair might come face-to-face on the upcoming episode of SmackDown after almost four months.

Will Rhea Ripley create history on the Road to WrestleMania?

The Road to WrestleMania has officially begun. With the Showcase of Immortals drawing closer, many are curious about the marquee matches that will take place on the card. Without a doubt, the Women’s World Champion, Rhea Ripley, is one of the main attractions for the show. The Eradicator has shattered records and created history in her WWE career so far. However, she has one notable milestone left to achieve: headlining WrestleMania.

With the recent injuries of major stars such as CM Punk and Seth Rollins, Rhea Ripley has a major opportunity to compete in the main event. Prior to The Second City Saint’s return, this year’s spot was seemingly locked for a potential Ripley vs. Becky Lynch showdown. Now, it is more than likely that the pair will indeed close Night 1.

In addition to that, The Eradicator will compete in her home country of Australia at Elimination Chamber. Therefore, she is heavily rumored to headline the show. As a result, Rhea Ripley is on course to become the first woman in WWE to headline consecutive Premium Live Events if both scenarios take place.
