In wrestling, the newly resurrected Internet Wrestling Community (IWC) has been enjoying a backstairs influence. Every other day, fans on X can create a ruckus for a neoteric aspect. And WWE HOF’er Ric Flair is under the same impression. The 74-year-old recently sat down with The Breakfast Club and discussed the impact of social media on wrestling these days.

At first, Flair said that he’d have hoped that wrestlers would reach out to him for a piece of advice. However, that’s not been the case. “I tried to, but I realized that it doesn’t mean anything. They want to go look and see what the fans are saying. The fans run their lives. Social media runs everything“. He even went on to admit that if these things had existed during his heyday in this business, he’d be in jail.

The Nature Boy joked that this interview would then be from Rikers Island. “Well, he’d be in jail. We’d be conducting this interview from Rikers Island,” said Flair. The 16-time World Champion has a notorious reputation when it comes to his social media game. Of course, he tends to have fun with his outlandish takes. However, it’s that phase of his life where he just needs to sit back and relax.

He gets an overwhelming feeling when Charlotte Flair adds another title to her kitty. The Space Mountain wants to let his daughter break his record for most World Title wins. That’s not bad. He doesn’t want the legacy to roll out of the ‘Flair’ territory.

WWE legend Ric Flair to wrestle another match?

One of the biggest reasons why Ric Flair is still in the conversation in 2023 is due to his absurd ambition to wrestle. Last year, in July, he had his retirement match while teaming up with Andrade El Edolo against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. It wasn’t easy to see a bloodied old man fighting for his life in the middle of his 70s. But it appears that he wants more.

Recently, the former Evolution member rekindled his will to have another match. However, during an interview with Chris Van Vliet, The Nature Boy clarified his statement. He didn’t tell whether he was vehemently gunning to do it or not, but he always wanted to have a singles retirement match instead of a tag team clash. For that, he would’ve liked Ricky Morton to stand in his way.

“…There’s a guy that still active today. Ricky Morton from the Rock N’ Roll Express, and if I were to have a singles match, not a tag, so it always was they wanted me to have a tag match because they didn’t think I could make it through a singles,” said Naitch.
