It’s been nearly five months since Vince McMahon announced his retirement from the WWE. After being in the industry for over 50 years and making significant contributions to the field of pro wrestling, McMahon hung up his boots.
Vince McMahon is regarded as the pioneer in the wrestling industry and is responsible for making wrestling mainstream today. Only because of McMahon’s commitment is the WWE currently one of the richest wrestling promotions and a global phenomenon.
Vince McMahon’s retirement came in the midst of the hush money settlement scandal. It was alleged that McMahon had paid $3 million to a former female employee for the cover-up of their affair. The investigation by the board also found out that he, along with John Laurinaitis, had made several women sign NDAs and paid them a sum totaling $12 million.
The investigation into the matter was called off in November. According to the Wall Street Journal, there has been an update that Vince McMahon intends to come back to the WWE and that he regrets stepping down.
While the majority of the responses to his comeback news have been negative, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has an entirely different opinion on his former boss. In a recent episode of the To Be the Man Podcast, Flair claimed that because he loves McMahon, he has the right to do anything he pleases.
“Well, you’re not going to get a negative word out of me. I love Vince McMahon. , And I think that he should; he is entitled to whatever he wants. I’m telling you, that don’t think so. He built it. Nobody else built it. Nobody helped him. He fought every war.”

Ric Flair reveals a recent message to him from Vince McMahon

Ric Flair, who was among the greatest in the business, got along well with Vince McMahon. At the time of McMahon’s retirement, Flair also posted a moving homage for McMahon on Twitter, claiming that the promoter was the only one that appreciated him and made him a better man.
In the same podcast, Flair revealed the recent message that he had received from Vince McMahon. He stated that Vince had wished him on July 4th and had told him that he would be proud of his documentary Woooooo! Becoming Ric Flair.
“I want to read this in closing because you brought up Vince McMahon. Hey Ric, this is July 4th. ‘Hey Ric, as of tonight’s RAW, you’re back in the opening of our TV shows. You’re going to be so proud of your documentary. I always keep my word. Happy 4th. Vince McMahon.”
In recent years, the former CEO was criticized for his booking of talents and in terms of creative aspects. Many superstars had left the company under his regime and came back after his retirement. With things going smoothly and greatly in the WWE as of now, the WWE Universe certainly doesn’t want McMahon to return to the company.
