Several old-school wrestlers have begun using the medium of podcasts to relay their opinions. WWE Senior Vice President of Live Events, “Road Dogg” Brian James, recently appeared on his podcast, “Oh You Didn’t Know” and talked about several developments during the Royal Rumble season. He also unloaded heaps of praise on Alpha Academy’s own Chad Gable.

He’d go on to address the status of the Master Technician and state how he finds him equivalent to the Greatest of All Time, John Cena. James would even attest to the label of being in his “prime” with Gable owing to his recent performances.

These words were uttered when the 54-year-old was touching on the topic of him teaming with The Glorious, Bobby Roode. While Roode assists the team backstage, Gable has been working quite hard with diverse talent. His rivalry with the Ring General, Gunther, attracted a lot of attention and established his prowess as a major athlete.

The Hall of Famer would go on to address the nature of Gable as well as his physical capabilities and how they resembled the kayfabe carried by John Cena. While the 37-year-old has proven his worth multiple times, he’s yet to find his share of success that characterized the career of the Leader of Cenation.

Shelton Benjamin wants WWE to do more with under-utilized Chad Gable

Former Intercontinental Champion, Shelton Benjamin, was recently a part of the ‘Kurt Angle Show‘, where he talked about several topics. This included the lack of spotlight on Chad Gable. He believes that WWE will finally acknowledge the efforts of the leader of the Alpha Academy in 2024.

I really wish they would do more with him. The knock is always going to be his size, but who cares? That kid is phenomenal.

Benjamin recalled the days in 2017 when he tagged along with Gable. While he didn’t consider himself a suitable partner for the Master Technician, he believes that he has a lot of potential. He also added how his small size has been a massive hurdle in his push. However, he believes that the times have changed and people are not so much bothered by stature.

Despite being on the losing end against Ivar on Raw, Gable was widely applauded for complimenting his heavyweight opponent. Gable is a former NXT, SmackDown, and Raw Tag Team Champion and is one of the only six to do so. Meanwhile, Shelton Benjamin is weighing the options for his wrestling future after being released from WWE in September 2023.
