As a professional wrestler and mixed martial artist, Rocky Romero is one of the most well-known wrestlers in the whole wrestling world. He is presently engaged in professional wrestling with New Japan. Together with his partner Roppongi Vive, Rocky competes in the tag team category.

Pro wrestling faced challenges this year as the entire industry underwent significant transformation. In terms of viewership, AEW made a significant impact by matching and sometimes surpassing WWE’s programme. Additionally, it saw Vince McMahon leave all of his positions and give over control of WWE to Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.

Rocky Romero recently lost the tag titles which he owned with his partner at the first ever inter-company pay-per-view event where we saw two companies fighting in a single pay-per-view event for the first time in the history of the Pro Wrestling industry. Rocky and Vive lost their IGWP Tag championship to ROH World Tag Team Champion FTR in a winner take all match.

Rocky Romero in a recent podcast says that the whole wrestling industry had a crazy year as the whole wrestling industry had changed this year AEW came on the list of top wrestling promotions and had got a lot of views in this time. WWE also suffered a big leadership change this year as the company is now under Triple H.

Rocky Romero said that AEW is now not in any way a rival to WWE because WWE has been in operation for more than 50 years, whilst AEW has only been there for a few years. Rocky claimed that because WWE has such a large market to itself, it can very simply drive AEW out of the business.

“The formation of AEW in the last couple of years and where it is and where WWE is, especially now with what’s going on with Vince being out and Triple H is in, and I feel like the next like two years of wrestling is going to be pretty wild. You know, because there is going to increase, I think, the competition because obviously like Triple H and … Stephanie [McMahon], and they need to kind of like make their WWE now.”
