The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns unified the WWE and the Universal Championship at the show of shows this year as he beat Brock Lesnar single-handedly in the biggest Wrestlemania match of all time. Since then, Reigns has regularly shown up on both the Red and Blue brands but is yet to start an actual fresh programme with any superstar, post his feud with the Beast. Wrestlemania Backlash is around the corner and yet there seem no concrete plans for the Head of the Table.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the scenario, mentioning the lack of angles shot for Reigns before the show thus far. Regardless, Roman will be in the main event, and WWE will most likely start building up to whatever they have scheduled for him on this week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown. He said:

“He is, in fact, in the main event. I presume they’ll shoot the angle on Friday. I don’t know that as a fact, I would presume it. But he is in the main event on the WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view.”

On Smackdown Live, The Bloodline debuted their much-anticipated ‘next step.’ In terms of the Tribal Chief, he stated that there is nothing else for him to accomplish now that he owns both Raw and Smackdown. The Usos just hold the Smackdown Tag Titles, so there’s still something for the Bloodline to accomplish. After that, Reigns asked his cousins to go to Raw and take RKBro’s Raw Tag Titles. Shinsuke Nakamura, to everyone’s amazement, showed up.

Reigns then hugged me, pretending to portray his condolences post Nakamura’s Wrestlemania loss. But as expected it was just a trap and the Usos then beat him down. Hence, it’s quite possible that Nakamura would show up this week on Smackdown to settle the score and challenge Reigns for a match at Wrestlemania Backlash in the process.
