REVEALED: Roman Reigns’ role for Wrestlemania Backlash

Reigns

But with two titles now sitting on his shoulders, there aren’t many challengers left for him on the roster. Hence, it seemed like he would be a part of the upcoming Wrestlemania Backlash event. But according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, Roman Reigns is still scheduled to main event the upcoming PPV.

“Since they haven’t shot any angle with him, maybe they’re not doing the pay-per-view without him. That isn’t the case, he is in fact in the main event. I presume they’ll shoot the angle on Friday, but he is in the main event on the WrestleMania Backlash,” reported Meltzer.

At the beginning of 2021, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Rey Mysterio, Happy Corbin and Daniel Bryan in a Gauntlet match to become the Royal Rumble opponent for Roman Reigns. In spite of winning the match, Nakamura did not get a chance to go after the title. This was because, he was attacked by The Bloodline and pinned by Adam Pearce later!

But now it seems like Nakamura is finally getting his long deserved shot at the Universal Championship. In a recent episode of Smackdown, Nakamura came out to confront the Tribal Chief but the night ended with him eating two superkicks from The Usos. He is the most likely opponent for Reigns at Wrestlemania Backlash.
