Known for her cold attitude, Ronda Rousey is a big name in the world of professional wrestling. She has established herself as a superstar with massive strength and sheer determination for the sport. For her love for the same, she has been a part of MMA, UFC and now WWE.
Rousey had a great career before joining WWE. She has multiple records listed on her name in UFC. Apart from being the UFC’s first woman Hall Of Famer, she also held the record for most number of UFC titles defences until 2021.
Rousey became a big name in WWE as soon as she entered the ring. She has defeated multiple superstars and has also been one of the toughest players in the ring. It was for this ‘Rowdy’ attitude that she is currently out of the ring.
Ronda Rousey was the WWE RAW Women’s Champion in 2019 before losing it to Becky Lynch. She went away from action for a period of two years and returned back at the 2022 Royal Rumble as a babyface. Marking a great return, Rousey won the match defeating Charlotte Flair in the end.
Ronda Rousey was expected to return as a heel in 2022
In the recent talk on ‘The DC Check-In’ by Daniel Cormier, the former UFC Champion disclosed some of the things that were supposed to take place when she returns. She was supposed to return as a heel and was prepared to receive the audience’s hate.
But everything on D-Day turned out completely different. Ronda Rousey “was expecting boos“. Rousey came up to the ring with a guard and didn’t expect to receive such a great treatment. Moreover, for this reason couldn’t enjoy her win at the Royal Rumble.
“So when I came out and everyone popped, I just blocked them out, didn’t let them in, and just went in, did my job and got out,” said Rousey. After seeing the audience, Vince McMahon changed the plans and said, “No, no, no … you need to smile and you need to stop being a bi*ch“.
Ronda Rousey, however, loves being the heel and to stay in her ‘Rowdy’ character forever. ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper is her idol and she wants to have the same heel character as him. Her leather jacket is a significant proof of her love for the character of her idol.
According to her, it’s easy for people to hate someone but the real heel’s job “is to get the babyface over; not for everyone to think that you’re a cool heel“. She turned heel after her return at SummerSlam when the referee declared Liv Morgan as the winner of the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship.
