WWE is firing on all cylinders to expand its market in India as they host their first event in the country since 2017. Several superstars are giving interviews, starring in promotional videos, etc. for the same. Former tag champions Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens were among the first to arrive in India and have been busy shooting material for WWE.

From the latest pictures dropped by WWE India, Zayn and Owens were on the streets shooting. Interestingly, they were in their full ring gear. It is not clear what exactly they shot during the session, but rumors speculate a promotional video for Sony Sports Network. The pictures show Owens and Zayn filming with a few superstars from Indian movies as well.

Indian actor Karthi Sivakumar, tagged in the post, indicated his involvement in the project. This being the first time in years that WWE has come to India, the company is going all in with the promotion. Triple H had gone on record to say that the Indian sub-continent is an untapped market in terms of fan base.

Now that the wrestling industry has become bigger than ever due to the growth of AEW, fans from India can expect more events like this shortly. WWE also hosted the Superstar Spectacle in 2021, held in the Performance Center due to pandemic restrictions.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to take on the Indus Sher at Superstar Spectacle

WWE announced that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will be taking on the Indus Sher at Superstar Spectacle. This will be the first time the former champions team up after their loss at Payback. The Judgment Day defeated Sami and Kevin to win the Undisputed Tag Team Championship with an assist from Dominik Mysterio.

On the other hand, Sanga and Veer have been missing from Raw and SmackDown for months. They randomly appear on Main Event but never have a solid storyline. They will be accompanied by Jinder Mahal, who was the WWE Champion, last time WWE came to India in 2017. Therefore, fans will be looking forward to what goes down in the match.

Other than that, WWE announced only two more matches as of now. A Women’s World Championship match has been announced between Rhea Ripley and Natalya. In the main event, Seth Rollins and John Cena will team up to take on Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci from Imperium.
