Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns
Rami Sebei popularly known as Sami Zayn is a former Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion who currently works for WWE on Smackdown. Zayn made his professional wrestling debut in 2002 wrestling for FLQ promotion in Quebec. The same year Zayn moved to International Wrestling Syndicate under the name El Generico where he would have feuds with Kevin Owens for the IWS World Heavyweight Championship. In 2004 Sami Zayn started appearing on Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and after a while became a regular name for the promotion.
During his time in PWG Zayn won the PWG Tag Team Championship five times with four different partners. Sami Zayn later defeated former team mate Tornado become the PWG World Champion. After defeating PAC and Roderick Strong along with his partner Kevin Owens Zayn became the first wrestler in PWG history to hold the Tag Team title and World title at the same time. Zayn spent more 9 years on the independent circuit wrestling for promotions like Chikara, Ring Of Honor , Dragon Gate to name a few. Zayn after his impressive showing on the independent circuit was signed by WWE in 2013.
Sami Zayn defeated Nakamura to become a part of Money in the Bank ladder match
Under the developmental contract Sami Zayn made his debut in WWE through NXT where he defeated Curt Hawkins and Cesaro on the same night. In 2014 Sami Zayn defeated PAC at NXT Takeover : R Evolution to win the NXT Championship and after the match was assaulted by Kevin Owens to start their epic feud. Sami Zayn made his main roster debut when he answered John Cena’s open challenge for the United States Championship which he ended up losing. Since his debut Sami Zayn has managed to win the Intercontinental Championship 3 times in his career.
Sami Zayn recently qualified to compete in the Money In the Bank ladder match. Sami Zayn who is a honorary member of the Bloodline said that him qualifying for the match is an advantage for the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. The honorary Uce in a post-match interview with WWE correspondent Megan Morant called everyone in the match a vulture and him being in the match would be an advantage for the champion :
“What we really need to focus on, is the fact that I won my Qualifying Match. Which means, The Bloodline is represented in the Money in the Bank ladder match which means that there is a way, a very reliable way, a very trustworthy way to make sure that Roman Reigns stays protected,” Zayn said.
“I hate to sound like a pessimist, but this place is filled with vultures. If they possess the Money in the Bank, they will take any opportunity to try and rob the Head of the Table of what is his, which is the championship, the Undisputed Universal Championship.”
It will be interesting to see what happens if Sami Zayn ends up winning the Money In The Bank match as Roman Reigns is the current champion.
