Saraya has been ecstatic since doctors cleared her to compete in the ring. A neck injury forced the former WWE Superstar to give up in-ring action. Saraya was one of the top performers during her time in the WWE and could have achieved more in the company had her career not been plagued with injuries.

After her injury, Saraya appeared as the SmackDown general manager for a year and even managed absolution for a brief period of time. The former WWE Divas Champion also worked as a contributor during her ultimate days with the company.

During a recent appearance on Sessions with Renée Paquette, the former Divas Champion discussed the day she was told she was cleared to wrestle. She said that it was Halloween when she was cleared to wrestle. It means that doctors cleared her to wrestle on October 31st, meaning a few weeks after her physical confrontation with Dr. Britt Baker.

“Halloween, I went to the doctor in California, one of the best around… He sat there, we went through [the CT and MRI scans], and he went, ‘You’re cleared.’ I burst into tears, Yeah, Halloween is when I got the full clearance. I called my parents and cried my eyes out.”

Saraya’s neck injury in 2017 was because of the kick she took from Sasha Banks at the live show in December 2017. Although, she has never blamed Banks for her injury and has always asserted that it wasn’t Sasha’s fault.

In the same interview with Renee Paquette, Saraya stated that Sasha Banks was one of the first people she texted because she knew how tough it had been mentally for Sasha all these years. Saraya stated Banks was over the moon when she heard the news.

“The first person I texted as well was Mercedes, Sasha. She was one of the first people I texted. All that stuff, that can mentally fuck someone up to end someone’s career.”

Saraya has no bad blood against anyone, and is motivated than ever in this new beginning inside the squared circle. Her first match in five years will be against Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D, at AEW Full Gear.
