Sasha Banks pulled off one of the most winsome wrestling debuts of all-time. She appeared on last night’s NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 event to shock the world. Although, the move has been rumored from a long time, seeing it really unfold into reality was pleasing, to say the least. Well, The Blueprint didn’t just came for a special appearance. Rather, she had some huge plans to take care of.
After KAIRI successfully defended her IWGP Women’s Championship, Sasha Banks (now as Mercedes Mone) confronted her. The entire Tokyo Dome lit up with her gracious arrival and for the most part, it felt a dream. However, once The Standard entered the ring, she declared herself as the CEO of that women’s division. Mone didn’t minced her words as she immediately challenged KAIRI to a title match for February 17.
Now, it’s all upon us and the world will witness the NJPW in-ring debut of Sasha Banks at Battle in the Valley event in San Jose. After a noteworthy staredown, Mercedes planted KAIRI with a modified DDT-esque maneuver, which seemed like a botch. However, that doesn’t takes anything away from her iconic debut and now The NJPW’s newest addition has issued a statement on her forthcoming match. While speaking to the press post-event, Mercedes declared that the fans are about to witness the greatest match in Stardom history, come February 17.
“I’m interested in many wrestlers, but the reason I decided to fight KAIRI-san in the first place is because we have a ‘past.’ February 18th, San Jose, New Japan I think it will be the best match in Stardom history, so please look forward to it.”

Is Sasha Banks coming to AEW?

The wrestling community is still buzzing about Sasha Banks’ NJPW arrival. However, it’s quite possible that they’ll get another reason to go bananas on the January 11 edition of AEW Dynamite. At the show, Saraya will take on Britt Baker and AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter. So being said, Saraya do needs a partner to handle the business.
According to a strong rumor that’s floating around, Sasha Banks could very well be that woman. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter also indicated the way AEW is treating this tag match as a big deal. Counting on that assumption and NJPW’S working relationship with AEW, one could bank on Sasha to show up.

Previously, Fightful also reported that backstage belief in AEW lies in the motion of The Boss’ arrival. Tony Khan was also inquired about the same topic a few weeks ago. Obviously, he smartly avoided answering to that question and assured that nothing comes out, at least on his watch.
