This weekend in Toronto, WWE held its annual live event. It was one of the rare occasions of a week-long Holiday Tour where CM Punk did not make the list. And how could Seth Rollins let it pass? Rollins retained his title in a triple-threat match against Shinsuke Nakamura, and Drew McIntyre. After that ‘The Visionary’ got on the mic to engender a chorus of CM Punk chants.

Rollins asked the fans whether their chants would produce a guy not even in town that night. Moreover, he reaffirmed by saying that ‘The Best in the World’ didn’t care about anyone but himself. Furthermore, he asked the packed arena to get everything out of its system. Following that remark, the Punk chants fizzled down and morphed into Rollins’ battle hymn.

Rollins and Punk met on Raw a few weeks ago. They met inside the ring after ‘The Second City Saint’ officially signed with the Adam Pearce-led brand. What happened in those 15 minutes between the two was witnessed by 1.8 million people on television, a startling spike of 400k viewers from the previous segment. That pretty much summed up how badly the fans have been waiting to see the two men unleash on each other.

With every ounce of energy, Seth told Punk how much he hated him. Not only that, The World Heavyweight Champion alluded to the fact that this is Punk’s last chance, and it would take a miracle to prevent it from blowing out of proportion.

What the new year looks like for Seth Rollins and CM Punk?

In a matter of a few hours, Seth Rollins has a massive woe awaiting him. If he has to get to Punk and wrestle circles around him, as he stated in the aforementioned promo, he’d have to survive what’s on the horizon.

This Monday on Raw: Day 1, The Architect takes on Drew McIntyre for the World Heavyweight title. It would serve as a rematch of their clash that went down at Crown Jewel. Now, if Rollins manages to avoid McIntyre’s menace, he would have another chance to confront CM Punk the following week on Raw.

As noted, The Chicago-based wrestler will return with the red brand on the January 8 edition, slated to emanate from the Moda Centre in Portland. One thing’s for sure: the upcoming few weeks on Raw are going to be action-packed.
