As 2023 sets into the rearview mirror, WWE is on the brink of a new year. And boy, did they get the tempo rolling. Having said that, Seth Rollins has been announced to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre in three weeks. On the first Raw of 2024, the two masters of their game will lock horns in an epic showdown.
This would serve as a rematch to the one they had at last month’s Crown Jewel premium live event. Even after coming ever-so-close to upstaging The Visionary, McIntyre lost despite prodding his best foot forward. Not taking away any credit from Seth, he fought like a true warrior and overcame the odds. However, he may have to channel that grit once again when Rollins meets McIntyre in San Diego.
McIntyre has unlocked the doors he didn’t need until recently. He put Sami Zayn on the shelf through a vicious beatdown last week. As a result, Zayn will be out indefinitely after suffering a torn meniscus. Last night on Raw, The Scottish Warrior spanked Jey Uso, satiating his hunger to inflict as much pain as he could on the ‘Yeet! master’. With vengeance on his mind, McIntyre would transcend limits in order to get the desired result.
But by no means, the man he’s going to face for the title is submissive. Seth Rollins has battled through back pain over the course of months. He has put his misery on the back burner and is hellbent on adding Drew McIntyre to the list of opponents he’s put down. It’s going to be a cracker of a main event.
Seth Rollins came face-to-face with CM Punk on Raw this week
Though he’ll get to Drew McIntyre in a while, Seth Rollins met one man he despised the most on Raw this week. Shortly after CM Punk unveiled himself as the brand new member of Raw, The World Heavyweight Champion crashed the party.
They went on to have a heated exchange that had more of Rollins and less of Punk, for a change. Rollins implicitly told Punk that he hated him and would do everything in his power to shield WWE’s tightly-knit locker room from The Best in the World.
The Architect rebutted CM Punk’s claim of calling WWE his home and accused the 45-year-old of trying to destroy that place when he walked out of WWE back in 2014. Punk declared himself for the Men’s Royal Rumble match and teased coming after Seth Rollins once he wins the entire thing in January.
