Shawn Spears, formerly known as Tye Dillinger, has finally returned to the WWE. In 2018, Spears was injured, which sidelined him. However, he returned in 2019 but was barely seen on television and requested to be released. He returned to the independent circuit following his release and joined AEW for the time being.

After returning to the company where Shawn Spears became famous as Tye Dillinger, his first match was finally announced in almost half a decade. This week on NXT, a backstage interview asked Spears to explain his actions in attacking Ridge Holland with a chair last week. He responded by claiming to like Holland.

I like Ridge Holland. But he's been lying to himself for far too long. That jolt of pain that is coursing through his body. It's simply a truth! That's why I struck Ridge. I'll see ya next week at Roadblock.

Additionally, he brought him to his knees and specified this as the reason for attacking him. He concluded the interview by teasing his first match in years at NXT Roadblock.
