It seems that WWE might have something big for Shayna Baszler in the WWE as she has formed an alliance with Ronda Rousey. Baszler failed to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship at the Clash at the Castle PLE but she certainly has the potential to be a world champion one day. Shayna Baszler hasn’t had many opportunities to fight for the World Championship, with the fight at the Clash at the Castle being her second PLE fight for a world championship.

Shayna Baszler is a two-time NXT Champion and deserves the world Championship around her waist as much as other deserving women on the roster. Baszler has also been a tag team specialist, winning the Women’s tag team Championship twice with Nia Jax.

Shayna Baszler has been very good friends with Ronda Rousey in real life as both come from MMA background. It would be great to see a feud between the two in the WWE as they haven’t been involved in a singles match in the WWE before.

Shayna Baszler responded to a person on Twitter today who thought it was stupid to say that MMA wouldn’t exist without pro wrestling. Baszler refuted the claim by claiming that a professional wrestler who was in Brazil to work in the carnival circuit had taught the Gracie family, who are credited with developing the martial arts defence system.

“Even with the misunderstanding of what pro wrestling actually used to be, the Gracies themselves were taught by a literal pro wrestler who was in Brazil to work the carnival circuit.”

Shayna Baszler discussed her decision to switch from MMA to wrestling in an interview she gave to the Argus Leader in January of this year. Baszler claimed that it was her coach who first saw it and that she had started to lose interest in MMA. She claimed that after a few defeats, she stopped caring about losing.

According to Baszler, they had asked the UFC if she could do some pro wrestling work in between fights to keep herself occupied and in shape, but they had received a negative response. Shayna Baszler claimed that at that point, both she and her coach made the decision to transition to professional wrestling.

“I think my coach had recognized and I think, you know, in hindsight, I can admit it, I think I was falling out of love with MMA, I started losing fights I shouldn’t have……And so my coach sat me down and was like, ‘Listen, how about we step away and do this pro wrestling thing and see just a reset?”
