The Celtic Warrior Sheamus is one of the best-known wrestling veterans in WWE. The Irish star has been off television lately since his bout with Edge on SmackDown. But his limited matches in WWE saw him deliver one of the five-star matches. Speaking about that Intercontinental Championship bout, Sheamus claims it should have been a main event that night due to their enthralling performance.

While talking with Virgin Media Sports Stories, The Celtic Warrior stated that his goal is still to win the IC title. Adding to it, he even wants to mainevent a WrestleMania in the coming years. He thus circled back to the moment when he faced Gunther and Drew McIntyre last year at WrestleMania 39. The story leading to the bout and their hard-hitting wrestling at the Grandest Stage of Them All was a delight for the WWE Universe.

Considering all those beatings, Sheamus even claimed that their triple threat bout should’ve main-evented Mania. It even stole the show that night and lifted the spirits of the fans present at the Sofi Stadium. He mentions that no other match came close to their performance, just like he expected it. Coming from a breathtaking battle at Clash at the Castle, Sheamus was already a big contender to dethrone The Ring General. But his moment was warded off in efforts to make Gunther’s Intercontinental title reign historic.

I should have main evented WrestleMania last year. It should have gone on last. It stole the show at WrestleMania. Nothing came close, match-wise, the match me, Gunther, and Drew had.

Only if Sheamus withholds his idea to win the gold might he be in line to challenge The Ring General. The Great White has been out of WWE due to his shoulder injury, so a Royal Rumble return would make sense for his comeback. A solid feud yet again, vying for the same prize would benefit WWE.

Claudio Castagnoli claims Sheamus to be a tremendous asset to the company

Looking back at the time between 2016 and 2019, The Bar was one of the most influential tag teams in WWE. It brought down two former rivals, Sheamus and Cesaro, and as of now, AEW star Claudio Castagnoli, to team together for the coming years. That’s when The Celtic Warrior and the Swiss Superman bonded for a longer time.

While talking with WrestleTalk, Castagnoli expressed his love for the Irish star. He claims Sheamus to be an awesome person with extremely hard-working abilities. He stated that any company would benefit from having the 45-year-old on their roster. Claudio claims him to be an absolute workhorse.

The King of Swing then again stated that Sheamus is a maniac in the best sense. He even respects this behavior of his friend, as it helps him be in the place he deserves. Claudio is also looking forward to seeing what happens with The Celtic Warrior, just like the entirety of the WWE Universe.
