The Extreme Rules Premium Live Event kicked off with a violent and chaotic brawl between the Brawling Brutes Sheamus, Ridge Holland, and Butch and the Imperium Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, and Giovanni Vinci.

The six-man tag match was an old-fashioned Donnybrook match and was won by the Brawling Brutes. The match saw each of the six men get a chance to shine and receive crowd pops.

At the conclusion of the game, Sheamus struck Gunther with the fabled Irish Stick Shillelagh when he was being restrained by the Brawling Brutes. Thereafter, he delivered a Celtic Cross to Gunther through the table. Gunther didn’t get up after that, and The Celtic Warrior wrapped it up by performing a Brogue Kick on Giovanni Vinci.

The leaders of the respective stables, Sheamus and Gunther, have been feuding for the WWE Intercontinental Championship since the past month, and Gunther has defended the championship against Sheamus two times, once at the Clash at the Castle and the other at this past week’s Friday night SmackDown. The match at the Clash at the Castle was awarded Five stars

The rivalry has been a great one, and we are excited to see more of it in the future. Sheamus will definitely get the IC Championship shot in the future and will surely defeat Gunther to become the Grand Slam Champion. The Celtic Warrior posted on Twitter saying that Gunther is nothing more than a dishonourable cheat. He even indicated that he was coming for the IC title.

“Let it be known that 24 hours in hell showed ‘The Ring General’ to be nothing more than a dishonorable defeated cheat.. submitted then torn apart by 3 hungry dogs. Oh, and he tapped. What’s mine is mine. #ICTitle”
