Sheamus has been on a phenomenal run in his career. The Brawling Brutes leader set his sights on the only title that has eluded him in his career, the Intercontinental Championship. From last year’s Clash At The Castle to this year’s WrestleMania, the Celtic Warrior came close to achieving glory on multiple occasions.

During this quest, his longtime friend turned rival, Drew McIntyre, got involved in the title picture. Since then, both European superstars have become bitter enemies. In a recent Twitter post, Sheamus didn’t miss the chance to reply to the Scottish Warrior’s recent jab at him about his age.

Drew McIntyre said on the recent episode of Monday Night RAW, “When we first met, I was 19 and Sheamus was about 42 years old.” The Irish superstar was quick to respond to the comment by sharing two pictures from different timelines. Sheamus juxtaposed the pictures, saying that McIntyre now looks older than his dad. Moreover, he used a hashtag calling Drew a backstabbing bast*rd.

The two superstars last shared the same ring at WrestleMania 39, where they battled for the Intercontinental title. It was a brutal affair involving the champion, Gunther, in a triple-threat match. McIntyre at one point pulled out Sheamus as he was about to pin the Ring General, eventually both falling victims to the champion. Both men ended up on different brands after the WWE Draft 2023 a month later.

The Ring General, Gunther, is set to take on the Scottish Warrior, Drew McIntyre, for the coveted Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. The match was made official on this week’s Monday Night RAW after weeks of back-and-forth confrontations between the two superstars.

Drew made his long-awaited return at the Money In The Bank event, laying out the Imperium leader. The former WWE Champion made his intentions clear by lifting the Intercontinental title this week. Earlier this year, McIntyre was unsuccessful in winning the belt during a triple-threat match involving Sheamus at WrestleMania 39.

After that, the 38-year-old took a break as reports emerged that his contract with the WWE was nearing its end. On the other hand, Gunther recently surpassed 400 days as champion and is nearing the historic record held by the Honky Tonk Man. He faces a huge obstacle in the form of Drew McIntyre, who looks determined to claim the first title he has won in the company.
