WWE veteran Sheamus is one of the most hard-working and hard-hitting superstars in WWE. He has accomplished it all in his illustrious career, except for the Intercontinental Championship. It looks like he still wants to win the championship that has illuded him the most at the Biggest Stage of Them All, WrestleMania 40. 

The Celtic Warrior made his intentions clear when he shared a drawing on his Instagram story. The drawing could be said to be a little bit controversial, as it showed Sheamus hitting Gunther with the 10 beats of Bodhran. His straightforwardness indicated that he still hadn’t forgotten his lost battle against The Ring General.

The 46-year-old had his last match against Edge on the August 18th episode of SmackDown. He has been out of action with a shoulder injury since then. Sheamus and Gunther have had some of the best matches during their rivalry. Their matches on Clash at the Castle and WrestleMania 39 garnered praise from critics and fans. However, in both of those matches, The Ring General got the better of him.

Fans are waiting for him to make his return and win the one title that has eluded him throughout his career. The I.C. Champion admitted that he does not want The Celtic Warrior anywhere near his title, considering their history. Only time will tell when Sheamus will make his return and go after Gunther once again.

Sheamus sends cryptic messages on social media with his contract reportedly expiring in 2024

The Celtic Warrior has been very active over the past few days on social media. Most of the time, his posts are meaningful, and fans can relate to them. However, he shared a weird post a few days ago that left fans wondering about his future in the company.

The 46-year-old star took to X and shared a post with just a ‘hi’, and after some time, he followed up by writing ‘bye’. His messages were without context, but it could mean a lot considering his current contract situation. Sheamus’ contract is reportedly about to expire in the first quarter of 2024.

He has been out since August due to a brutal shoulder injury, and he has been recovering since then. Although he has hinted about fighting Gunther once again, it’s really difficult to figure out the exact date of his return. Only time will tell whether he defies all the odds and returns to WrestleMania 40 to fight The Ring General or not.
