“Won’t be a ‘stadium show”, Shinsuke Nakamura may face fierce Roman Reigns for the title after Backlash 2022

Shinsuke Nakamura was last seen in a main event run when he faced AJ Styles for the WWE championship at WrestleMania 34. The King of strong style won the Royal Rumble match in 2018 to go on to main event the show of shows. The match itself was high quality as both the wrestlers are considered the best in-ring workers in the wrestling industry.
Shinsuke Nakamura remained in the top mid card act capturing the Us title and the Intercontinental title two times each. Extremely popular among the hardcore Japanese style of wrestling fans, many are disappointed at his mid-card positions, some even feel that he has been neglected over years.
Up until recently when WWE teased a possible matchup against the Unified WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. The hype faded after WWE in the recent SmackDown taping booked a six-man tag team match between the Bloodline and Drew McIntyre with the RK-Bro.
But the good news is that WWE wants to save the Drew Mcintyre vs Roman Reigns for later and that’s where Shinsuke Nakamura steps in. According to ringside wrestling a tenured member has confirmed that the match won’t be a “stadium show” and “Nakamura is there for us to hit when it’s time.” The member has also told them that, “Nakamura here for us to use with Roman when we need it”.
What can be next for Shinsuke Nakamura?
Shinsuke Nakamura can fit in any role given his indie experience and definitely he has adopted the WWE’s style of wrestling. If not a main event run, WWE can definitely put him back in NXT like they did with Samoa Joe and give him a mentoring role there for putting over rookies. It from that it would be great to see him Feud with the likes of Bronn baker and Solo Sikaova.
