Stephan Bonnar left this universe aged 45, yesterday. According to an official UFC statement, the American Psycho died due to heart complications, while at work. The 250 pounder was one of the most significant names in the world of Mixed Martial Arts. Although, he fought most of his career being an underdog, Bonnar worked tirelessly to create a name for himself in the light heavyweight division.

As we know, numerous UFC names have shown enough interest for professional wrestling over the years. Some of the prime examples include Ronda Rousey, who’s the reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion in WWE. But, today we’re going to dissect the extent of Stephan Bonnar’s intrigue for the same. Back in 2019, the 6’3″ UFC fighter spoke with WrestlingInc and he got asked about the possibility of having a WWE run.

The American Psycho didn’t sounded thrilled enough to pursue a career in WWE. After getting fired from UFC, his ultimate goal was to inculcate freedom in whatever he did. So being said, WWE definitely was not the best place for someone like him. As by then, they’ve transitioned into a much softer product. Bonnar was quite straightforward and clear about his intentions and WWE wouldn’t have been a perfect fit for achieving them.

“Are you kidding me? I got fired from the UFC. I’m doing this for the freedom. My goal isn’t more fame, it’s freedom. If I can’t do whatever the f*** I want, this it’s gonna be pretty hard to do it. Honestly, I’d get fired pretty quick from the WWE. So, I don’t have my hopes set on that.”
