WATCH: NFL’s 49ers replicate Stone Cold’s iconic finisher on the line in a training camp, the crowd appreciates the duo

Stone Cold is one of the most iconic figures in the wrestling world. The Hall of Famer and WWE Legend’s legacy has not been limited to wrestling only. Austin has been one of the most influential figures in the world of sports entertainment and thus his mannerisms and catchphrases are still used in popular culture as well. Other WWE superstars have also been inspired by him such as Kevin Owens who used Stone Cold’s finishing move- “Stunner” as his finishing move as well.

But as discussed above his admirers are not only limited to the wrestling world. As two NFL stars recently imitated the iconic finisher not in a ring but on the ground. Yes, The San Francisco 49ers who are currently having a training camp before their match on 13th August saw their two stars- Zakelj and Schlueter successfully executing the move on the training ground.

Two players from The 49ers imitated Stone Cold’s finisher Stunner on the ground.

It was the 6th day of the training camp and suddenly Stone Cold’s music hit on the ground, the two saw it as a great opportunity to pay tribute to the Legend and WWE Hall of Famer. Both raised their hands as soon as they heard the music to the fans know on the ground that they are about to pull off something special, the duo then moved to the sideline and Zakelj planted a successful Stunner on his teammate Schlueter as the latter sold the move quite perfectly.

Zakelj would then go on to pin his teammate obviously without a referee and then pretend as if he had won the match.  He would then go one step ahead and would even imitate Stone Cold’s iconic beer celebration as he clashed two water bottles together and raised a toast. The fans on the ground were elated as they cheered for both the players.

The duo would then return to the training camp. Well, both the players are rookies for this season as they look to leave a mark on the league yet but seeing their moves it does seem like the two can join WWE someday. The clip was shared by the official Instagram and Twitter handles of NFLonFox and interestingly WWE is also telecasted on the Fox network. It would not be wrong to say if the clip would’ve already reached the company and they might be interested in the guys. You can watch the clip here.
