Cesaro debuted as Claudio Castagnoli at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view event

Former WWE superstar Cesaro debuted with All Elite Wrestling during last night’s AEW x NJPW : The Forbidden Door pay-per-view where he came in as Bryan Danielson’s replacement against Zack Sabre Jr. after Danielson was forced to pull himself out of this dream match due to an injury as revealed by himself on this week’s AEW Dynamite.

Moving forward Cesaro will now be known to fans as Claudio Castagnoli as part of his new ring name. His entrance into the arena received a deafening crowd pop which was a clear indicative of how much the fans were pumped up to see the former Swiss Superman into a new territory. After the event got over, AEW president Tony Khan officially announced Claudio as the newest member of the AEW roster.

In an interesting note, Khan revealed during the media press conference that they approached Claudio for a possible debut after the recent massive Forum show. Initially Claudio wasn’t in the plans for making his debut last night at Forbidden Door but Danielson’s injury changed up everything and that opened a “door” at the Forbidden Door for Claudio’s eventual debut.

We all know regardless of what company they work for, these wrestlers are usually good friends in real life. Same is the case for Cesaro as he was loved and supported by almost everyone during his tenure with the WWE, still they didn’t capatilised upon his incomparable in-ring abilities to something massive. He always remained prevented from the actual main-event star status in WWE although resembling to become the same fewer times.

His AEW debut at Forbidden Door crossover event has set wrestling twitter on fire including a highly positive response from the fans all around as well as several top wrestling personalities including Former Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, Naomi, Xavier Woods alongside some of the AEW stars.
