One of WWE’s ‘Big 4’ considered PLEs is slowly being replaced. After growing speculations regarding this year’s Survivor Series going overseas went rampant, it’s ultimately staying in the United States. As announced by WWE on Twitter, the Allstate Arena in Chicago will play host for the event. It falls on the Thanksgiving weekend dated November 25. The company has also announced that SmackDown preceding the PLE will emanate from the same arena.
They ran the exact venue back in 2019 where Raw, SmackDown and NXT competed for the brand supremacy. For what its worth, WWE doesn’t sees Survivor Series as big anymore. Instead, that spot has already been occupied by Money in the Bank, which recently shattered company’s metrics in London. Further, there’s no mention about the WarGames concept this year. If true, a lot of fans would be left disappointed.
A twitter user named John Clark shared the early seating chart for this year’s Survivor Series. Apparently, there’s only one ring at this time. If that stays like the permanent seating plan, WWE must be planning to bring back the concept of brand supremacy in 2023.
WarGames was borrowed from NXT as soon as Triple H gained creative reins from Vince McMahon. For years, fans were clamoring for a change and that was The Game’s response to their quests. Undoubtedly, the move was well-received among the WWE Universe and gained wide critical acclaim.

Who main-evented last year’s Survivor Series?

The entire premium-live-event was based upon the two WarGames matches last year. Earlier on the show, women got their chance to show the world what they’re capable of. However, in the main-event, The Bloodline {Roman Reigns, The Usos, Solo Sikoa & Sami Zayn} battled Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Butch, Ridge Holland and Kevin Owens.
The story revolved around Sami Zayn’s allegiance towards The Bloodline. As it panned out, Zayn delivered when it mattered the most. He shockingly low-blowed Kevin Owens and eventually paved the way for his team’s victory. After the match, Jey & Zayn hugged it out to everyone’s utmost delight. The match was praised for its creative approach along with solid in-ring action.
It remains to be seen if WWE continues the WarGames trend this year or not. During the post-show presser in 2022, Triple H affirmed that they’d not devise a hard & fast system while deciding such matters. His team would rather analyze it on a year-to-year basis and then come up with something.
